The Great Predictor processes only the data needed to run a private prediction game: group name, participant nickname, participant role, personal access link, submitted predictions, match results, points, and the group's last activity time.
Admin username and password hash are used to administer the application; passwords are not stored in readable form.
This data is used to display matches, save predictions, lock predictions before kick-off, calculate standings, manage participants, and keep access to the application secure.
The application uses external sports data providers only to retrieve match schedules, live status, and results; participant personal data and predictions are not sent to those services.
Some pages may show partner content from a third-party advertising network, but only after the visitor accepts it. The partner may receive technical data such as IP address, browser type, and the visited page, and may set its own cookies. Nicknames, access links, and predictions are never shared with the partner.
Data remains stored while the group exists or until an administrator deletes it. A group that remains inactive for a longer period may be marked for deletion according to the application's inactivity rules.
To correct or delete a nickname, access link, prediction, or entire group, a participant should contact their group administrator or the application administrator.
The application uses necessary technical cookies set by Spring Security, such as a session cookie for administrator login and security mechanisms required for forms and application protection. These cookies are used only for authentication, security, and basic application functionality.
Some pages can show partner content from a third-party advertising network. It is loaded only after you click Accept in the consent bar. The partner may then set its own cookies or similar identifiers to show, limit, and measure that content, according to its own privacy policy.
If you click Decline, partner content is not loaded and no partner cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy choices button below the partner content.
The frontend uses browser localStorage to remember your consent choice and sessionStorage to remember scroll position after saving a form or refreshing live results; this data stays in your browser and is not used for identification.
The application does not use analytics or other tracking tools.
The Great Predictor is a private application for predicting sports results within groups. Participants submit score predictions, and after matches finish the application calculates points and displays the standings.
Each access link is intended for a specific participant and should not be shared with anyone outside the group. Actions performed through an access link are treated as actions of that participant.
Predictions can be entered and changed only until the match is locked, according to the lock time shown by the application for each match. After locking, predictions may become visible to other participants in the group.
Scoring is based on the rules configured in the application, including points for an exact result and points for a correct outcome. Monthly standings are ordered by total points, then by the higher number of correct outcomes, and then alphabetically by nickname.
A group admin can add and delete participants, change their nicknames and roles, open matches for prediction, and manually enter a final result when this is enabled. A group admin cannot change their own role.
The application uses external sports data providers for schedules, live status, and results, but the final display and scoring depend on the data available in the application and any manual administrator entries.
Users are responsible for fair use of the application, keeping their access links private, and the accuracy of the data they enter. The application administrator may remove inactive groups, incorrect entries, or access that is being misused.
